Generators: Creating 3DStructure Models without Learning CAD (presented by Gateway Division of the NMRA)

Have you tried Dave Ackmann’s form-based technique for creating model railroad structures for 3D Printing, without learning Computer Aided Design?  Introduced in the summer of 2022, Dave’s “Generator” programs make it easy to fill out a form with specifications for buildings, roofing, windows and more, and push a button toget a 3D model. Come see what Dave has been developing since 2022: Rafters, Canopies, Staircases, Louvers and more. Learn how to combine simple“primitive design elements” into more complex structures. If you are interested in printing your own custom designed structures, but were reluctant to invest in learning Computer Aided Design, this clinic is for you. Best of all, the software is free!

1:00pm
             Clinic Room 207 A

Introduction to the exciting world of Blunami! (presented by SoundTraxx)

In this clinic, we will cover the exciting new benefits of using Blunami that you may not have thought about or realized. It really is fun and easy toinstall high quality sound into your models!

2:00pm
             Clinic Room 207 A

Operation using SoundTraxx Products (presented by SoundTraxx)

In this clinic, George will discuss real world operation scenarios and how we can accurately model them with SoundTraxx decoders. SoundTraxx makes more than just a noise maker, it is a true loco simulation system!

3:00pm              Clinic Room 207 A

Lighting without Wiring (presented by Trainz)

In this clinic Scott Griggs from Trainz will present how to use Dwarvin fiber optic lighting products to create unique lighting effects on your railroad using fiber optic cables. The Dwarvin system is super easy to install, reasonably priced and there is no soldering required! Learn how it works and tricks and techniques to make lighting more realistic than you have ever seen.

All Day
               Area 301

Scenery (presented by Just Ask)

He shows how to capture images suitable for billboards, how to turn images into decals, and how to build support structures for billboards, both from styrene and using 3D printing.  He will explain the importance of standardizing on billboard heights, the use of gauge blocks, and how tobuild and use custom designed assembly fixtures
